Aurora Sky Music Player

Bio

After years of touring the U.S. and one major label release with their former band FEAR THE CLOWN, singer Andrew West, guitarist Chris Shy and synth-keyboardist Arjavh Aleson became fed up with the direction they were going and decided to make a quick break in order to create something new.  Filling the void with the same energy as bands they all loved like NINE INCH NAILS, FILTER, SEVENDUST, BREAKING BENJAMIN, SHINEDOWN and more, they created AURORA SKY in their hometown of Oklahoma City, OK.

While AURORA SKY was perfecting their new sound, bassist/songwriter Corey Lowery (Dark New Day / Stereomud) heard their demos through a mutual friend.  Not only was he impressed, he agreed to work with them to perfect their sound and ready for upcoming recording sessions for a completely self-financed, independent release.  Drummer Glen Sobel (SIXX A.M. / Vivian Campbell) also agreed to join in and provide the backbeat for said sessions, and to add to the cast of heavy hitters, programming wiz Justin Walden (GODSMACK / KORN / SEVENDUST) signed on to add his talents to the project as well.

Armed with an all-star line-up, AURORA SKY recorded an E.P. in June of 2010 at the famed The Mix Room studios in Burbank, California with Grammy-Nominated Producer Ben Grosse (BREAKING BENJAMIN / SEVENDUST / HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD) at the helm.  The tracks were then mastered by engineering genius Ted Jensen (SHINEDOWN / ALICE IN CHAINS / PAPA ROACH).  What results is one of Active Rock music’s most sensational sounds to date.

Upon returning home to OKC in July, the band recruited former RICKETS / XIT 27 drummer Mike Finucane as their permanent drummer.  Mike’s powerful attack and tasteful cymbal-work has resonated across stages from the West to Midwest where he’s opened for heavy-hitters like SALIVA, BUCKCHERRY, DISTURBED, SLIPKNOT and others.  His charismatic style locked immediately with the band and they began rehearsing for a string of upcoming label showcases and an early fall tour.

Hear for yourself why people like GODSMACK’s Shannon Larkin are calling them, “…the new contenders for the Rock radio belt”, and why Music Journalist Jason Rybak says the band yields “the world’s next big frontman!”  For once, the words are not just hype, as the band can deliver and are destined to become a staple at Active Rock Radio for years to come.
